Tekram DC390 and Linux..more on SCSI
Hello, Thanks to those who replied to my recent enquiry about SCSI controllers for Linux. I have done a bit of googling, and found a local supplier selling Tekram DC390 2UW (Symbios chipset+bootrom) at a price I can afford. It seems to have had good reviews, but it would be nice to hear from anyone actually successfully using one. To recall I have an Asus TUSLC m/board with Intel 815 chipset. Thanks. -- Regards Cliff

I'm using [from dmesg] DC390: 1 adapters found scsi1 : Tekram DC390/AM53C974 V2.0f 2000-12-20 And it's working fine. I'm with a MB with 440BX chipset. -- Mads Martin Joergensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort." -- A. Excellent! One of my next investments may very well be an i815EP motherboard, so I'm still interested in seeing if the 815 and the 390 work okay together... ===== -- -=|JP|=- Hit me! - http://www.xanga.com/cowboydren/ Jon Pennington | Debian 2.3 -o) cowboydren @ yahoo . com | Auto Enthusiast /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | ICQ UIN 69 67 29 31 _\_V __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? No problems here with TEKRAM DC390 -- Togan Muftuoglu
Cliff, I used to use a Tekram. Worked very well but there was an inconcistancy in the install. If you allowed SuSE to autodetect it would load the Adaptec drivers and would halt the computer because the card does not respond. I dont' know if it was the same model but you might be safer if you loaded the modules when you try to install. On Mon, Oct 15, 2001 at 09:02:23AM +0000, Cliff Sarginson wrote:
