Hi list, does anyone know how I can automatically put certain mails into a specified folder based on rules? I am a subscriber to different lists, e.g. Suse Linux mailing list. I would like to create an automatism which puts all mails having e.g. [SLE] as part of the header into one specified folder called e.g. SLE on the IMAP server. I am using fetchmail to collect my mails from the mail server. Any clues? Welcome to the wonderland of "procmail" 1) check if you have installed procmail (if not install it 2) If you are using KDE2.1 from Suse check if you have kaptain installed 3) If yes to the above questions under kde run the command kaptainshell and then select procmail (this way you can easily set your procmail rules without big diffciulties) 4) alternative ly read man procmail procmailex procmailrc and then sit down and write your rules. 5) When things fail drop another email to the list HTH helps -- Togan Muftuoglu

procmail or maildrop will do this. Procmail is more widely used.
Maildrop has more readable configuration files. That plus earlier
support for the Maildir mailbox is why I use Maildrop.
