[opensuse] XMMS as Firefox helper app -- Revisited
Actually, I found that it was possible to make XMMS the player for the necessary mime-types without touching the mplayer plugin (which anyway I would not have known how to do). Changing PLS streams to XMMS didn't work until I made the same change also for the MP3 mime-type. Changing OGG-Vorbis to XMMS didn't work until I made the same change also for the M3U mime-type. The mplayer plugin remains intact. --------Original Message from Stan Goodman, 25Mar2009-------- openSuSE v10.3; Firefox v3.05; XMMS v1.2.11 I would like Firefox to play streamed music through XMMS, and I have set up *.pls for XMMS. Music continues to be played through the MPlayer plugin. I intend to cause other audio streams also to play through XMMS. How can I cause XMMS to be the active helper this stream type, without crippling the existing MPlayer plugin? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
