[SuSE Linux] Configuring Diamond 56i PRO PCI modem
Hi, I've been looking though the lists but can't see any reference to this, so I was wondering if anyone else had cracked this. I've installed a diamond 56i PRO PCI internal modem and am trying to configure it using setserial. I can see the modem when I go: (device near end of list). [start output] # cat /proc/pci | more PCI devices found: Bus 0, device 11, function 0: IDE interface: Acer Labs M5229 TXpro (rev 32). Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. Master Capable. Latency=32. Min Gnt=2.Max Lat=4. I/O at 0xffa0. Bus 0, device 6, function 0: Ethernet controller: Realtek 8029 (rev 0). Medium devsel. IRQ 11. I/O at 0xeec0. Bus 0, device 5, function 0: VGA compatible controller: S3 Inc. Trio32/Trio64 (rev 84). Medium devsel. Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xec000000. ********* THIS IS THE DEVICE *************** Bus 0, device 3, function 0: Serial controller: Unknown vendor Unknown device (rev 1). Vendor id=127a. Device id=1002. Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. IRQ 11. Master Capable. Latency=64. Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xebfe0000. **************** END OF DEVICE *************** Bus 0, device 2, function 0: ISA bridge: Acer Labs M1533 Aladdin IV (rev 180). [end output] I've tried using the bios to assign other interrupts - but with out much success. I've still got my previous modem installed (so I don't loose my internet connection) It's a PnP SupraExpress 28i on com2, and it still works. Com1 is present, but unused at present. I'm trying to set the new modem to be on /dev/cua2 (like com3) but with a different interrupt to com1. [example] whim:/sbin # setserial /dev/cua2 irq 11 port 0xebfe0000 whim:/sbin # cu -l /dev/cua2 Connected. cu: Got hangup signal Disconnected. # [end example] Has anyone else managed to configure a PCI modem? I checked that this wasn't a Winmodem when I bought it. I've looked in the SuSe knowledge base but wasn't able to locate an answer there either.
