Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] Mail problems
mikeh Oh, you WILL have questions. Also pick up the serialmail package. If you follow the INSTALL file and get everything in there working you are 90 0.000000inished. It is the last 10% that may take a while! If I can be of any help, let me know. Wayne Subject: Re: [S.u.S.E. Wade,
^^^^^^ WHO?? 8-)
In /etc/sendmail.cf: Find the line that begins with DMfoo.com ( or #DMfoo.com) change to DMcse.unl.edu (Domain Masquerade)
Find the line #Dj$w.foo.com and change it to Dj$w.ravine.binary.net ( if that is your ISP mail host address)
Find the DS (Smart Host line) and put DSravine.binary.net
My Dj$w and DS are NOT the same. DS is my mail address domain (ix.netcom.com). Dj$w is my smtp server address. My pop server is, of course, not mentioned in my sendmail.cf file.
I did the above with sendmail and still no dice . . . .same error. In fact, if I put in Dj$w.ravine.binary.net, I get that I am from jesusfreak.ravine.binary.net, which is even weirder . ..
I'm impartial to what I use (sendmail, smail, qmail) as long as I can get the thing to work! smail is much faster then sendmail, tho. I'll grab a copy of qmail and let you know if I have questions . . .
thanks,
- mikeh
