All you really need is to read the masquerading-HOWTO. However note that it should say how to use ipchains while you need iptables. If you dont want to bother yourself with iptables you should be able to run ipchains after "modprobe ipchains". Tazio

Yes, this is easily possible. First, install and configure SuSEFirewall, which will set up the IP masquerading and forwarding for you. Second, set up dhcpd, so that you won't have to manually configure the laptop's networking.
