[S.u.S.E. Linux] X11, Logitech Mouseman+ and kernel 2.0.35
Hello I have a minor problem with my Logitech Mouseman+ mouse and X, since I upgraded from kernel 2.0.33.SuSE (an intermediate between 2.0.33 and 2.0.34) to 2.0.35. I'm using text based login whereafter I start X, and X does indeed start, but after a while it hangs, showing the initial X background and the X-shaped mouse cursor. As soon as I touch the mouse it gets going again, and soon my Linux workstation (P-II, Award BIOS, 9-pin PS/2 connection for the mouse on the motherboard) is happily up and running. This problem did not exist with the 2.0.33.SuSE kernel. Unfortunately, I didn't check the intermediate 2.0.34, so there I don't know. As I said, this is a minor, strange, but also somewhat annoying problem. The mouse support in the kernel is configured for a PS/2 mouse, and there are no complaints anywhere during the compilation or booting. For XFree86 (v3.3.2), the mouse is configured as MouseManPlusPS/2. Any ideas, anyone? Yes, I have a logitech mouseman+ also. In XF86Setup, choose ps/2, not logitech mouseman+, then it will work properly. -- .---. /#######\## -==============================================- ;##### ;# Mike's WindowMaker ;##### ;# <A HREF="http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org/windowmaker.html"><A HREF="http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org/windowmaker.html</A">http://tasteslikechicken.ml.org/windowmaker.html</A</A>> \# /## -==============================================- ####'---'#### - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
