Intel 2100 3B: can get IP, but can't connect?
Hi all, This is a new SuSE 9.1 install on a dual-boot IBM Thinkpad T41. There's an Ethernet port and an Intel 2100 3B card. I'm trying to talk to a Netgear router, all of which works fine under the "other" OS. Under SuSE, the router sees the laptop (listing it as an attached device). The laptop even gets an IP from the router. But I can't ping anywhere from the laptop, not even the router itself. I set up the card through Yast, and downloaded the firmware through YOU. Everything looks OK to my ignorant eye, but no connection. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but can't figure it out. (By the way, I downloaded the latest version of ipw2100, but the module wouldn't install. Looks like there's a function that needs to be compiled into the kernel -- pci_dma_sync_single.
