Re: [SLE] Real One player for SuSE 8.2 Professional i386?

I tried sending this via gmane.org, but that doesn't appear to have worked. -----Forwarded Message----- From: Rob Lanphier <robla@real.com> To: Bob Pearson <gottadoit@mailsnare.net> Cc: robla@real.com Subject: Re: [SLE] Real One player for SuSE 8.2 Professional i386? I seem to recall there being a beta Real One player in 8.1. I cannot find a Real One player for Linux at www.real.com or anywhere else for that matter.
We have a very well hidden alpha of the RealOne Player for Linux available. Here's the instructions for getting it: http://realforum.real.com/cgi-bin/unixplayer/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=announce... It's an o.k. player, but development halted on that version a couple of years ago, and it does have some basic installation issues that were never addressed, so I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have a high tolerance for tinkering. As someone else mentioned, we have a project that we've recently kicked off which is a new version of the GUI (Gtk based) on top of our latest engine. The project page is here: https://player.helixcommunity.org The version in CVS is actually shaping up nicely, and we're looking at publishing nightly builds soon, with a first alpha release shortly thereafter. The focus of the work right now is in getting the Mozilla plugin working well, since we have partners looking to do intranet deployments of this. Lemme know if you have questions on it, and certainly, if you would like to help out (dev, testing or documentation) please let me know. On the realforum.real.com site, all I can find is rp8, the previous versions of realOne used many moons ago, it always segfaulted. Regards Sid. Rob Lanphier wrote:
