It seems that the traceroute and nslookup utilities were not included in my setup of SuSE. Which packages can I install to include these helpful programs?
traceroute is part of the package nkita in series a. Usually this package is installed. (YaST will even warn you if you try to uninstall it.) Maybe you simply didn't find traceroute because it is located in /usr/sbin and this is not in the PATH for non-root users by default. To use nslookup you need to install the package bind or bindutil from series n.
