Hi. We just installed a 3 disk setup with a hardware raid controller. Yast detected it and the box is working fine. How do I check the raid array? I see we have a new device /dev/md0
SuSE 8.2 Thanks, Steve.
Well can you create partitions on /dev/md0?
No. Yast doesn't let me.
Open the case, start copying lots of data out there and watch the drive lights on the drives themselves (those little ones built onto most scsi drives). They should all light up at the same time. Then - before you put any critical data on the drive, use any controller featurs you have to fail one of the drives (this is raid 5 right?) and see if you can read your data back).
Our aim is raid 5 if possible. But it's only fair to be able to check to se if it's working no? They are ide drives and have no lights. Steve.
