Howdy all. I'm trying to get my laptop monitor's backlight to go off, and eventually set it up so it does so automatically (after a prescribed time). I've tried the following 3 commands, but they all do the same thing which is blank the screen only (i.e., the backlight is still on). xset dpms force standby xset dpms force suspend xset dpms force off If I do 'apm -S' the backlight does go off, but the harddrive spins down as well (not quite what I'm after here). Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks for any help, Eric __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
