Hi all, I'm using opensuse 11.4, gnome on a asus eeepc900. I have the resolution 1024x600 and thought that was the best. But when I tried to start up evolution the bottom is not visible so I can't see the buttons for yes or no or what's on them. Isn't there some easy way to make it fit on screen? This mail was written with mutt that was far more easy to install. Regards to everyone on the list. /Mats -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks for fast reply. Well, I think my solution will be to avoid evolution on this computer. I can live without it on my eeepc. Regards. /Mats -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

There is a workaround of sorts if you still want to use Evolution - or any other app with dialogs that don't fit on 1024x600 netbook screens.... hold Alt and click anywhere in the dialog box and drag the dialog box up. This will show the hidden elements... I use this trick quite a lot on my EEE (it's not just an Evolution issue... loads of apps have fixed size dialogs that are way too big for the netbook screens. Yes! That worked perfect! Thanks a lot! Even if I use mutt most of the time I don't want to leave a problem unresolved. /Mats

Those forced to use resolutions with so few vertical px may want to consider enabling virtual desktop size, possible in 11.3 and up via 'Option "Panning" "<width>x<height>"' in 'Section "Monitor"' in xorg.conf or in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-monitor.conf. In versions 11.2 and prior this was done via 'virtual' in 'SubSection "Display"' in xorg.conf. -- "How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver."
