Hi there, I'm looking for something I can run to serve my users with web-based e-mail. Logging into the server, webmail pulls the mail using pop3 (preferably) and lets them read it, reply, etc. Any suggestions? I have already taken a look at horde/imp but those are just too big and have too darn many dependencies. I need a simple but customizable script or server (on its own port if necessary) I can install without too many hussle. Something free or cheap might help. Like $10 max. TIA, Rogier Maas

It offers you so many at so low cost (it is free!) that you will never change. You would find at: http://www.courier-mta.org/download.php#sqwebmail You need (qmail, of course, and vpopmail, at: http://www.inter7.com/vpopmail/download.html They are very easy to compile (just a few options in ./configure), and thats all. If everything is alright, read carefully documentation and try again with mysql support. All my options in configure are: ./enable-passwd=yes --enable-softtimeout=7200 --with-authshadow --enable-https=login --enable-mimetypes=/usr/local/apache/conf/mime.types --with-fcgi --with-ispell=/usr/bin/ispell It always compiles for me. Mysql module is very conflictive sometimes... I just tried it. It didn't crash, but it didn't send html out to my browser. It sent the plain text. I put some html in an email to my localhost, read it thru my browser, but the html was ignored and it just printed it as text. It must be some other problem.
