I'm trying to find a web based email reader I can read my IMAP folders with. I see mentions of imp, but can find it in the distributions. I found one on the net that says it needs HORDE which I also can't find on the distribution. Are there any web based email readers that will read folders in the SUSE 7.2 prof. distribution? or, any ideas on how to get IMP working? thanks.

In my opinion, IMP is a royal pain to install. It is picky about which version of PHP you're using and may require changes that disturb SuSE rpms. After fouling up a fresh SuSE PHP/Apache system, I decided to start from scratch with another webmail system called "SquirrelMail". (http://www.squirrelmail.org) It's a simpler system that doesn't make as many demands as IMP does. Give it a try! Regards, Lew Wolfgang

Look at the Courier mail package at http://courier.sourceforge.net The webmail module can be used separately from the other parts. We use all parts of Courier at work and it works very well. /Stefan

Do a search on freshmeat.net for 'web mail imap' - that turns up a whole load of hits. Hope that helps, Chris -- http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html __ _ -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Chris Reeves /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ICQ# 22219005 _\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\

Is that server_name:/home The : is necessary
rsize=8192,wsize=8192,timeo=14,intr
and in server /etc/exports i have /home client_name(rw,no_root_squash)
Is that name or IP? If it's a name, do you have reverse DNS working properly?

Hi Just a thought - check the permissions on /home on your server. Also, /var/log/messages will possibly have slightly more detailed error messages. I hope this helps, Andrew -----Original Message----- From: Landy Roman [mailto:landie@concentric.net] Sent: 13 September 2001 23:20 To: suse Subject: [SLE] nfs trying to mount /home directory via nfs i get permission denied in client fsta i have server_name /home /home nfs rsize=8192,wsize=8192,timeo=14,intr and in server /etc/exports i have /home client_name(rw,no_root_squash) what did i do wrong -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq and the archives at http://lists.suse.com
in client fsta i have server_name /home /home nfs rsize=8192,wsize=8192,timeo=14,intr that should be server_name:/home
and in server /etc/exports i have /home client_name(rw,no_root_squash)
Also check you are running hte portmapper service on the NFS server and if you are using hosts_access control you have allowed the IP address of the client machine via /etc/hosts.access -- Simon Oliver

Also one Oliver here, has anyone of you experimented with the above size values? Wouldn't 4096 be best (measured to through-put) ?
