[opensuse] Repositories for openSUSE 11.2 Release Candidate
Hi There!. I just installed openSUSE 11.2 RC-1 on my desktop computer. It looks great. I am a total newbie with openSUSE, but i have ten years of experience with other GNU/Linux distros. The 11.2 (or 11.2-RC) repos seems not be ready yet. So, for the veterans of openSUSE... How can i install packages from now til the day the final version of 11.2 will released?. Thanks very much, in advance. Jose. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Firstly, opensuse-factory@opensuse.org is the right list for the bleeding edge. Secondly, beta testers need to be patient. The 11.2 repos are currently between RC1 and RC2 (out tomorrow). Mirrors need time to sync. Perhaps by the time you read this the distribution/repos/11.2 repos will be ready. Thirdly, you could register the factory repos, they should be complete - but beware once 11.2 is out they will start changing rapidly again! Can I upgrade (over the network) from RC1 to RC2? Or do I need to re-install? -- Roger Oberholtzer -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

When you installed RC1 it should have put the 11.2 repos in as your primary repos. If so, "zypper dup" should move you from one rc to the latest rc, and eventually to the released product. I don't think you can do that from the gui. In my case, I have milestone 7 on my laptop which uses the factory repos, so I will need to setup the 11.2 repos prior to upgrading to 11.2 RCx. Indeed they are in place. So, I just need to "zypper dup" when the time comes. Great! -- Roger Oberholtzer OPQ Systems / Ramböll RST Ramböll Sverige AB Krukmakargatan 21 P.O.
