Then start working your way through the installation menus on YAST. You will have to tell YAST what your current network settings are supposed to be; you will also have to provide YAST either with a nameserver address or the address of the ftp site itself (e.g. ftp.suse.com itself is 202.58.118.5) and you'll have to provide the directory to go to when YAST connects (i.e. /pub/suse/i386/7.0/suse/ or /pub/suse/i386/current/suse/ as you prefer). Then launch the monster and let the it chug away. Be warned that this is not exactly a zippy procedure --even with a cable connection it can take 5-6 hours or more; trying a 56k modem installation, you could probably order the CDs and have them arrive at your house before the ftp install has finished. I have cable modem), open YaST, set the install media to FTP and fill in the correct params, the go to the select packages/upgrade menu choice... BOOM! away it goes... This should work as well if you were to go into X, start a PPP connection, then launch YaST and let it run. Over my cable modem it took about 4 hours...
