I have a SuSE 6.4 box which I want to bring into a SuSE 9.0 box. However, I found a problem with the internal LAN. Both Ethernet cards are setup: eth0 with IP and netmask and default gateway eth1 with IP 192.168.0.254 and netmask 255.255.255.0 arp -a reports the windows machine (DHCP) with: ? 192.168.0.122 ..... netstat -rn and ifconfig looks also normal to me. ping 192.168.0.122 from SuSE 9.0 is 100% lost (same from Windows to 192.168.0.254) plugging back the LAN cable to 6.4 works using the Ethernet card from 6.4 does not change anything. Where should I look next? bye Ronald -- Ronald Wiplinger (CEO of ELMIT) http://www.elmit.com +886 (0) 915 653-452 - I'm a SpamCon Foundation Member, #694, Verify it at http://www.spamcon.org PS: Spam prevention! You gotta love these questions: "Everything is correct, what is wrong?" It isn't working, correct? Therefore you have missed something that would indicate why it isn't working, correct? So why not post the info and maybe someone can see what you have missed

Could that be the problem - "Both ethernet cards are set up...................IP 192.168.0.254......." Shouldn't they have different IP's. Just a thought. -- (o:]>*HUGGLES*<[:o) Billie Walsh The three best words in the English Language: "I LOVE YOU" Pass them on

This happened on one of my laptops during upgrade from 9.0 to 9.1. I had to use YaST to configure them properly. For some reason during the upgrade it decided that the original eth0 was now eth1 and vice versa, eth1 was not previously configured. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ....
