Hi, I have a new server being set up which only has an ip address. I try to send mail to zentara@203.134.23.789 and the mail is returned saying "hostname not found". Is there a special syntax to send to a raw address, or isn't it allowed? AFAIK, you have to use real host names, not IP addresses. Either set up a correct /etc/hosts or a local name server. No, another user tkdev pointed out to me that zentara@[222.333.444.1] works. I tried it and it does. :-) -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq

+----and here the quote ends----+ I think so: try writing a mail to zentara@[203.134.23.789] - you should wrap the ip in square brackets [].
