toshiba america ethernet: Connection problem
Hi folks, I got a shiny new Toshiba M45 that will not internet. It has a Toshiba america info ethernet controller configured with DHCP. Connected to a router ( always worked on other hardware). The Intel Pro Wireless I have left unconfigured to get this working first. Lights on plug in and works in Windows boot mode no problem I have everything set to DHCP and still no connection. ifconfig shows eth0 configured with no TX RX. There is a L0 local loopback listed also. Never had to deal with this. Any ideas? thanks.
It does say marvel ethernet * hardware unknown. I'm wondering if there is something I need to do to the kernel or perhaps its unworkable. -----Original Message----- From: Thom Nuzum [mailto:thom@tendata.com] Sent: Thursday, January 20, 2005 11:59 PM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] toshiba america ethernet: Connection problem Hi folks, I got a shiny new Toshiba M45 that will not internet. Here I go replying to my post again. sorry Well after many hourse it is fixed. Seems I had to install the wireless first and the Lan ethernet second. Also it will only install correctly at a fresh install with which I added many packages. Pain in the farce. I had tried the Marvel Linux driver and recompiling the kernel earlier to no avail. -----Original Message----- From: Thom Nuzum [mailto:thom@tendata.com] Sent: Friday, January 21, 2005 8:50 AM To: 'Thom Nuzum'; suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: RE: [SLE] toshiba america ethernet: Connection problem It does say marvel ethernet * hardware unknown.
