[SuSE Linux] A networking question
I just installed 6.1, but I suspect I messed up part of the network config. The reason I think this is that I keep dropping connections when trying to download files over a lan via netscape. Could someone give me a checklist of things to look for to be sure lan (and ppp) connectivity are properly setup? Before you spend too much time studying OS issues have your network cards got a test facility in them? i.e. Where you can set up one as a slave/receiver and one as a master/sender. If so I suggest you try that first. You might also check to make sure that the card seats tight in its slot (no wobbling). That one drove me nuts on a machine at work. Cheers, Dennis
