HI, I've a strange message when I'm copying some files and directories: cp: will not create hard link ... Anyone an idea what could be the problem?

My guess is that you are copying files across different partitions, and some of those files are really hard links: these can not be copied across partitions, they have to be modified to "soft" links. Or, you have to copy what the link is pointing to, instead (--dereference and related switches) -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
