Dear list members: I have a machine that is not hooked into the internet. I have installed SuSE 9.3 onto this machine from DVD. I wanted update the system so I made a patch CD according to the description at: http://portal.suse.com/sdb/en/2004/09/fhassel_patchcd.html I used the second, rsync method, exactly the same command that is in the description. When I wanted to update/patch the system, I got error messages about missing Multimedia Pack rpms and OpenOffice1 rpms. I realized that these packages are not included in the original install media ie these are not real updates but more likely supplementary packages/patches. My concern is if I fetch again the updates how I know which rpms not to exclude. Is there a list of the rpms/packages that are not available on the original media? (I think this type of patches should be handled different from the real updates.) Thanks, IG _______________________________________________________________________ [freemail] extra 1GB-os postafiókkal, Önnek már van? http://freemail.hu

This is easy in yast. make a cdrom of the i386 directory and below. Yast has Patch cd option. it will see this directory on cd and work from there. Assuming you did not check remove update rpms when doing YOU. -- ___ _ _ _ ____ _ _ _ | | | | [__ | | | |___ |_|_| ___] | \/
