Dear all, After moving to SuSE 7.1, I tried again to hook up my USB HD (in fact it is an ATAPI-brige) to my machine again. This time I can see that "usbview" can correctly report the vendor, version and so information of my device, but I don't know what should I do next. Should I look for some special devices under /dev to mount ? Or, should I "mknod" one myself ? What's the major / minor device number to use ? Regards, Raymond Fung.

I have no experience of USB hard drives, but my Sony Camera is picked up OK by the usb-storage module. This makes the media appear as an SCSI device and when I plug it in and view the xterminal it comes up as sda. I then created a directory for it and an entry in fstab and all works fine. Could possibly be the way to go for you Stu
