[opensuse] Playing flash videos without sound card
Hello: I have a computer without a sound card. I would like to watch (without listening to the sound) flash videos on youtube but the flash player crashes. Is it possible to configure either the player or the system to be able flash videos without the sound card? Another somehow related question: I also would like to record sound from flash stream as wav file. Is it possible without a sound card? Thanks. Something similar's been asked before: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=917482 though not with a satisfactory resolution. Perhaps you need some kind of virtual (software) soundcard, but I don't know if such a thing is available under Linux. Use [c]clive (or some other YT-Downloader) and mplayer/vlc to view the movies. With clive, you can also define a player in the config.

mplayer -ao pcm:file=foo.wav foo.{flv,mp4} HTH, -dnh -- Shh! Be vewy quiet, I'm hunting wuntime errors! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Heh, I was doing that just yesterday as my 13.2 fresh install did't properly set up my sound card. It (pulse audio) was sending all sound to Dummy Out device. Worked perfectly. -- Explain again the part about rm -rf / -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
