Something similar's been asked before: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=917482 though not with a satisfactory resolution. Perhaps you need some kind of virtual (software) soundcard, but I don't know if such a thing is available under Linux. Heh, I was doing that just yesterday as my 13.2 fresh install did't properly set up my sound card. It (pulse audio) was sending all sound to Dummy Out device.
