Re: [SuSE Linux] When will SusE make a Alpha distribution
** Reply to note from Raymond Doetjes
Does any one know if and otherwise when SuSE will make an Alpha distribution. My colleque is running RedHat, but he has the same problems with RedHat that I had before I switched to SuSE.
Well, there are more than a few of us out here with machines ready when/if SuSE decides to go for it. So, SuSE, when will it be? . . .That's too long! Yep, Now that I've read this I'm wondering what to use for some of my ISP stuff. I have some newly aquired Alpha's, so I'll have to continue to look myself. Any suggestions? -ted Jep Hill wrote:

I know that RH has an ALPHA version, but I don't know if you need a precompiled Kernel for the ALPHA's or if you can cross compile with GCC... If I were you, I'd start with a precompiled kernel from either cdrom.com or RH and build everything from source. It's not supported and developed well enough to have a competetive distribution against RH's.
