Perhaps this is a silly question. Here it goes: I have configured two screen resolutions using Sax. So now I can switch resolution just pressing CTRL-ALT and +/-. However, KDE desktop keeps in large resolution when I switch to lower and I have to scroll... How can I resize the desktop whenever I do change the resolution? Cheers!

Hi Pep, this sounds like a virtual Desktop. Have a look in the screen section of XF86Config. If You see lines starting "Virtual" (or what comes next) that's it. Just comment / remove these lines. make a backup of the XF86Config file. Hello Juergen, I haven't found any "Virtual" in my XF86Config. By the way this is how looks the screen config: Section "Screen" DefaultDepth 16 SubSection "Display" Depth 16 Modes "1024x768" "640x480" EndSubSection Device "Device[0]" Identifier "Screen[0]" Monitor "Monitor[0]" EndSection Cheers, Pep. Well Pep, in that case I am as lost. I knew there was a virtual desktop size possible (XFree 3.x), but I never used it, saw it once and that got me the idea since your description matched. sorry, no more ideas. Juergen

I think the "Virtual" window size is the largest mode used. In you case it would be 1024x768. Using Alt+Ctl +/- only switches sizes but keeps the largest virtual size. I'm not sure how kwintv does it screen sizing but when it is full screen you do not the the virtual window effect. Terry
