Is anyone using tensorflow/tensorflow2 on Leap 15.3? I can only find tensorflow-lite, which is a scaled down version for things like mobile devices. Has it dropped off the radar? In OBS, it seems to be locked for all targets, and I don't see any previous builds anywhere. I thought maybe it was only available for SLE15. But I don't see those packages. Perhaps I don't know where to look for SLE15 packages that might be compatible with 15.3. IIRC, on a recent Leap release (15.0?), tensorflow and such tools were listed as a big part of what the release added. Is that no longer the case? I have looked at contacting the maintainer (https://build.opensuse.org/package/users/openSUSE:Leap:15.3/tensorflow), but last time I contacted someone listed as a maintainer, I got a surprisingly rude response that they were in fact not the maintainer. Despite what was listed in the project. So I'm asking here first... -- Roger Oberholtzer

Locked is normal for packages that were released as part of an update, if there are further updates to it then they will happen as a maintenance update instead. the devel project instead https://build.opensuse.org/package/users/science:machinelearning/tensorflow but these days it seems like tensorflow2 https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/science:machinelearning/tensorflow2 is being much more actively worked on. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B

Ok. How does one find those update RPMs? Is it as I suspected: it is in an SLE repository? What would be the safe ones to add on Tumbleweed or Leap 15.3?

I dream of transitioning to Tensorflow2. But I am using some stuff written for Tensorflow1. Using Tensorflow1 is difficult at best because no one really supports it anymore. I am looking to install Tensorflow2 so I can evaluate what issues we will face going to Tensorflow2. We are not accessing it directly. So I am hoping that the packages that we use (e.g., rcnn) that support Tensorflow2 have dealt with the changes. Or at least most of them. But, I need to find a Tensorflow2 for Leap 15.3, and, hopefully, Tumbleweed, too, -- Roger Oberholtzer

If there was any updates they would show in https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/openSUSE:Leap:15.3:Update under Inherited Packages, as there are none it means there have been no updates since the 15.3 release. The leap packages won't work on tumbleweed. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B

OK, So I will focus on 15.3. That works too. Thanks for your answers. -- Roger Oberholtzer
