I finally get the sound to work. : ) But, the main volume control is thru' the 'phone out' control and the 'volume' control is dead? What ever it is, it's finally works. Thanks for all the help given. Dennis/sg

Try installing alsa from sources:

Goto www.alsa-project.org and get ALSA driver 0.5.11. Or maybe try again to configure with YAST2.
