You are probably trying to link connect to shares on NT and shares on Linux? One thing you need to get sorted is Samba - so your NT machine can see folders that you specify in Linux. A very useful one is your home area (your NT/Linux Username). Then I suppose you want to set up a proxy of some sort - either on NT or Linux. If on linux - then included with SuSE 6.2 is squid - use it. And, you may want to send/recieve email from Linux to NT and/or vice versa? Sendmail is included and needs setting up. And finally, my favourite bit of Kit is Apache - the web server. You can get plenty of admin tools for Linux that runs using apache. I strongly recommend webmin at www.webmin.com/webmin/ Have a play and I forgot about this - first and foremost - have you set up your network card... and set it to be visible on the same network as your NT machine? If setting up Samba, then set your WORKGROUP to be the same as your NT Domain and USE ENCRYPTED PASSWORDS. It is a painless process of getting your Linux machine talking to NT. We will be happy to help but first we will need a little more information. Is your server on a LAN or are you wanting to connect to a dialup ISP? Please supply the information and I am sure someone will be able to help you. -- Bob F EMail FBob@wt.net A Truly Wise Man Never Plays Leapfrog With A Unicorn... -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

I agree about both apache and webmin, but there is no connection between the two. Webmin is its own special-purpose, special-port web server, and is quite nice on a machine that lacks keyboard, monitor, and apache. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Webmin can be configured to use Apache, including the SSL feature. Work great! I *really* like the package. Unfortunately, it was sold to Caldera, who will take over the project as soon as Webmin reaches version 1.0 (currently at 0.78).
