---- Yeah, I've had to use xfs_repair about 5-6 times over the past decade or so of usage, of which it fixed the problem(s) about 3, and the others the disk was too corrupt to repair. But 5-6 times in a decade is far less often than every boot (as I'm sure you'd agree)... My worst mistake was losing a 2 discs in a RAID5 set (the 2nd because of my error in replacing the 1st...)...everything on that disc was Downloaded BUT, it still took about 6 months to get back to parity. (my non-downloaded stuff is backed up...) I realized then that 6-months -- too long to restore a 'backup'...hadn't realized the value of downloaded content.
