Hello, After disabling the Splash in System Services (Runlevel) and setting /etc/sysconfig Editor +System, +Boot, +THEME (BLANK), and +SPLASH (No), I still get the Suse 10/KDE bootsplash for the first 30 seconds of bootup. How can I completely remove the bootsplash from appearing during bootup? Many thanks in advance. James

After all of that did you remember to run mkinitrd? Some of it is stored in the initrd file used at boot time. -- Ken Schneider UNIX since 1989, linux since 1994, SuSE since 1998

I simply edit /boot/grub/menu.lst, and change splash=verbose instead of whatever it had. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFD3sDStTMYHG2NR9URAiXNAJ9B2YFpG2KBwAtZA0PAP8EvKNU7pwCfZp8n OLOMsmbsWK7FPPQdglyOEog= =M0tb -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

splash=0 works for me. http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/SuSE/2005-03/2875.html -- "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." Psalm 33:12 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg. Linux User #211409 Felix Miata *** http://mrmazda.no-ip.com/
