Agreed, but the scope is much greater. Yes and lets not forget that there are many other repositories as well as the build service. If you have specific needs there are many user contributed projects under the build service.
If you want a more up to date kernel there is Kernel_Stable.
And obviously there is the Packman repository and similar which might be considered an essential.

Hi Anton. Of course it is, and the former does not exclude at all the latter. It would therefore be an idea (would you agree) to formulate the text as of above, then, as an integration something like the following (and I think that should/could have been formulated since some time: "But opensuse is more than just the naked distribution. Far from it, it serves you with a multiverse of project repos where developers make specific software available to the user and even /home/dev repos where yet more exotic or specialized needs can find a solution. opensuse is then living in successful symbiosis with the packman repositories, an external project providing packages to tumbleweed and leap that can make you opensuse experience even more fragrant" (to be "bitty": I am a bit overly "bloomy" here, but this just serves as a provocative/proactive example. Just to remind that promotion needs fantasy and is not a self-runner). Of course any reference to external project and the wording of it (like for packman) need imperatively IMO clearance with them. Otherwise one is provoking itches, that would not really be desirable, right? Below this text one could then let follow a link to the page with the repo descriptions (like the one that brought light in the confusion about the "who is who" of the KDE repos at the time, I found that quite a breath of fresh air when that was set up, answered well the questions arising. Did I capture with this what was your thought? IMO info at the site should be hierarchical, passing from an explanation of the main distributions available (with link on a page explaining EOL policy) to a part introducing to the "supplemental" repos available (explaining in a short note also the grade of reliability/liability/stability to expect and finally a hint to where to find collaborating external projects (after clearance, as of above). The logic is for me not to overload the eye, because people capture (if ever) max. two things at a time. (in order not to "favor" by stochastic one pathway over the other (tumbleweed or leap) one can place a "back to front-page link" in the bottom to bring the reader back to the original choice. In allowing at a glance to see 13.2, leap, tumbleweed with what versions they offer (a bit like distrowatch). At least, for what is "to invite and convince" I would rather favor a "hierarchical introductory text first" the better solution. YMMV --- Alle Postfächer an einem Ort.
