openSUSE 11.3 Platform Version 4.4.4 (KDE 4.4.4) "release 2" gimp --version GNU Image Manipulation Program version 2.6.8 No problems to open GIMP. Anything else? What you are trying to open? No problems to open GIMP.
I have not had problems opening Gimp either.

In the present case, I wasn't trying to open anything yet. I clicked on the Gimp icon in the Panel, and the error came up. I have done that before without the error. I see that I can open Giimp with Alt-F2 without an error, so the problem must be in the button in the Panel. I think I'll delete the button and make t again. --

Looks like the button tries to call gimp-remote which first looked if there is an already running instance of GIMP and if so, use that to open the image. This wrapper is no longer needed in recent GIMP versions, the gimp command itself does this job. So you can edit the button properties and just replace 'gimp-remote' with 'gimp' Pit -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
