[opensuse] A way to edit ebcdic files on linux.
I have nfs and samba mounts from my linux workstation to several IBM mainframes and As400's. Their files are in ebcdic and I would like to edit them on my workstation. I know that it is possible to have translation done at the nfs level but that would cause other problems. What I would really like to do is install the ebcdic charset tables in an editor like kate and edit the files "naturally". anyone ever done that? My only other alternative is to use EditPad Pro on a windows box via windows shares... blech. wcn -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

IIRC, emacs can do this. Check coding method or input method. HTH, Jeffrey -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
