I do not even know where to begin with this so I will just explain what happens. I am using kernel 2.0.33 ( SuSE v5.2). I installed dosemu that came with the distribution and it works, but after the system has been sitting idle for a while it will hang when I try to run it. No problem I will just go to another virtual console and kill it. Well the process will not die, even with the ' -9 ' siginal. Is there a way to kill these types of rouge processes? Ok so now I will just do a ' shutdown -r now'. Now after all the sigterms have been sent and the filesystems are getting ready to unmount the system hangs. This is not new to me and it does not have anything to do with dosemu, (if any one has any suggestions to why dosemu doesnt load and hangs a tty, pleas feel free to comment), infact I think it has something to do with sync. I have run sync manually and it hangs a tty and I can not kill it. The only way to recover is to power off and then on. I know clarification is probably needed, but any ideas? _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
