While looking for a solution to my zip drive problem I found this reference at http://www.linux.ie.archivne.msg03253.html 'lo all, I seem to be having a problem with my zip drive. I can't seem to mount the damn thing. This is what I'm getting: root@Cartman: /etc:>grep 'zip' fstab /dev/sda4 /zip vfat noauto, user 0 0 root@Cartman: /etc:>mount /zip mount: the kernel does not recognize /dev/sda4 as a block device (maybe 'insmod driver'?) root@Cartman: /etc:>insmod ppa /lib/modules/preferred/scsi/ppa.o: init_module: Device or resource busy" Interesting, but no replys leading to a solution were posted. When I tried to use the zip drive from a friend in england last year, I think I stumbled over the same error. Newer Zip drives do not use the ppa driver anymore, but the "imm" module. (If I got the name right) Anyway, amongst these boot messages (could also be in "dmesg" or var/log/messages) there is a hint to the other driver.
