Hello, Juergen, ~ thanks to your help, I am making progress :) .. . . can now echo "huhu" OK, and, collect time from local time-server, and, write time to hardware clock. This is, still, a spot of bother, with getting up my "pmfirewall" ~ seems to me, that, maybe, ip-up is putting up my firewall, before I am properly logged on to my ISP by dial-up connection. ~ then the log-on process gets blocked. Therefore, I wondered if I should try to tell "ip-up" to WAIT 45 seconds, and THEN call pmfirewall . . . can you, please, tell me how this can be done ? thanks best wishes Richard _________ ____________ sent on Linux ____________ This Email is 100% Virus Free!
