Rolando, Actually, It does occur...you just aren't informed. Windows Netscape/IE do not tell you that there is a slow down really. They just sit there. The Unix/Linux version and the MacOS version of Netscape both tell you if there is a stall. I use to get pissed off about this too...until I realized this. I wouldn't worry about it.. Hope this helps you out.... -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org SuSE 6.3 (2.2.14) ICQ UIN:49268667 ------------------------------------------------------------ " Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom " --Gen. This could also be caused by an incorrect init string. Some modems need special init strings to force them to do hardware flow control, which makes for much smoother downloads. It all depends on the make and model of modem. Most modem manuals give a list of the commands, which need to be given to the modem before it dials. Where the init string is given depends on what is dialing the modem. Lots of variables here. Your ISP may be able to help you with the init string and we can help you with finding the location to put the init string. -- -------------------------------------------------------------------- Dan Owens mtn@redmeadow.com Bigfork, MT. -------------------------------------------------------------------- -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
