Hi, I want to enlarge my swap partition, but couldn't find the best way for it. Currently swap partition is on cylinders 0-30; and suse is on 31-2650. I want the swap size to be i.e. 0-50, and suse will be 51-4000. 2651-4000 is non-partitioned place by now. 1. Is there a way to do these modifications? 2. Before doing that, i want to backup my whole system. What's the best tool for it? (I can backup to cd or another hard-drive) Thanks in advance..
A current copy of Partition Magic. Tell it what you want and where you want it. It will start moving. You may need to do several reboots where moving operating system stuff, but much better than rebuilding things yourself. Like always, make sure you have a good backup of what you care about first. When I had a copy of PM 7.0 (and trying to use it with Suse 7.3 'ok' and Suse 8.1 'no way'), PM stopped when it hit problems that it didn't know how to handle and still left me with a fully bootable system. Upgrading to PM 8.0 fixed it's problem and everything else went fine. Tom Duerbusch THD Consulting oguzeren wrote:
