Hi
I am still using suse 9.0 with kernel 2.4 something. What i want to do is to install Asterisk VoIP server but i do not have any Zaptel hardware.
Does anyone know a good tutorial / installation instruction for Asterisk on a SuSE 9.0 pc? Or better still can anyone tell me where i can retrieve rpm's for the formentioned program.?
It is intended for ip-calls only so no zaptel hardware is present

Just download and compile it. There are several option like a ladies voice. It is easy to deal with and install. I also would like to play with a asterick system. If you wish also try Skype. It is a VoIP system for Linux and Windows. I am "n5xwbg" -6DST and Sid Boyce is "sidders" GMT

Thanks for your reply The installation instruction seems quite straight forward. As i believe a rpm would put all the files in their proper place but a tar.gz would run from the location it is compiled . Any suggestions where to unpack it to? Could i use a redhat rpm? if so which release? Thanks Peter
