Have you configured the ippp0 device for ISDN usage? (isndctrl addif ippp0....etc)
Yes, did that last year :) It dials manually without problem.
What does the syslog say?
Did `whereis syslog' and it says...... /etc/syslog.conf /usr/include/syslog.h Do I need to put something into syslog.conf ? In /var/log/messages I can see the normal crontab messages which scroll down the screen all day. Everything is okay there. Thanks -- Richard

syslog begin the general term for the system's logfile. On Linux that would be /var/log/messages. (Sorry for the unclearity)
mmm... thought so :) No, as I say, /var/log/messages just gives me the usual stuff and doesn't say anything about crontab not working properly. Normal cron jobs are being processed as always. Thanks Richard
