Re: [SLE] KSynaptics with Gnome
----- Original Message ----
Given that I'm running KSynaptics under Gnome, under SuSE 10.1, how can I get my preferred configuration to be "persistent" or at least have it automatically restored at login?
The supplied version of KSynaptics on the cd/dvd (0.2.4) is broken in that respect. If you add: ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/home:/cboltz/SUSE_Linux_10.1 as an installation source you will find a functional version (0.3.1). Alternatively, you could use the commandline configuration utility synclient (which comes in the x11-input-synaptics package) to discover which options are available for the device and which values you need, then put them in your X11 config file. ---------------------------------------------- I've taken the second route. Adding synclient calls to my .profile seems to have got this under control. Only remaining thing is that I can't see how to disable the edge scrolling feature. That said, I'm not really bothered by that as it doesn't seem to be causing any trouble by itself. Many thanks, Simon "You can tell whether a man is clever by his answers. You need to set the [Vert|Horiz]ScrollDelta values to zero. Dylan
