I would get the same error, although in different surcumstances. I would install glibc2 without starting x-server, and after that the server wouldn't start, giving "segmentation fault" error message. If I would do everything from X-term in X-windows, there'd be no error. Are you sure you've installed glibc2 correctly? That was the biggest problem for me.
