[SLE] SuSE 6.2 backup on Hard Drive method?
I have to 2 - 10 gig hd's with SuSE 6.2 like so: Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hda1 * 1 19885 10022008+ 5 Extended /dev/hda5 1 171 86121 83 Linux /dev/hda6 172 428 129496+ 82 Linux swap /dev/hda7 429 6117 2867224+ 83 Linux /dev/hda8 6118 6288 86152+ 83 Linux /dev/hda9 6289 7406 563440+ 83 Linux /dev/hda10 7407 8524 563440+ 83 Linux /dev/hdb has similar partitions. I have unused disk space that I would like to devote to a compressed backup of at least one of these two SuSE 6.2 installations. My guess is that dd would be the utlity of choice. My question is are there any special qualifiers, switchers, options, nomenclature, notation, or advice about the best method(s) or making selection(s) on this topic? -- Jeff French frenche@telalink.net For the best Linux reading list on the WWW, checkout http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Reading-List-HOWTO.html -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
