[opensuse] plain text formatting
I'm using Thunderbird 3.1.8 on openSUSE 11.4 and cannot find where to set the line width when composing a plain text message. Any ideas from the helpful folks on this list? -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I use SeaMonkey, so can't say. Nevertheless, it calls it "Wrap plain text messages at..." in "Composition" in browser prefs, and "mailnews.wraplength" in about:config, which ought to get you there if nothing else works. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Doesn't exist in Thunderbird. I've been thinking of switching to SeaMonkey. -- Ken Schneider SuSe since Version 5.2, June 1998 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I won't suggest you don't try SM, but don't let a little thing like this be a straw. If you can't find how to access about:config to change it there, or wherever it's hiding in prefs, shut it down and look in the profile's prefs.js file. If it hasn't been changed to something other than the default (72 IIRC, but maybe 76 or 80), it should be in there, and you can change the number with your your text editor. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Yes it does. Tools / Options / Advanced / Config Editor button Scroll down (waaaay down) till you find Mailnews.wraplength Set as desired. Mine was defaulting to 140. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It does; the problem is finding it!
