I am having a strange problem with openssh. When I log into another machine, everything works fine for a while and then all of a sudden everything locks up cold. It is like I just filled up a buffer, and it won't let me type, exit, or anything. And it happens everytime. Has anybody seen this? Thanks in advance.

Is it the client of the server that's locking up, and if it's the client, does the whole entire machine lock up or just the terminal with the ssh connection?

Are you running dry on space, perhaps in /tmp or /var/tmp ? ---------------------------------------------------- Jonathan Wilson System Administrator Cedar Creek Software http://www.cedarcreeksoftware.com Central Texas IT http://www.centraltexasit.com

Nope. Also, another twist. After a lengthy time, control finally returns. This sounds like a network issue, but I can login with another ssh session immediately after the first locks up.
