Tekram DC-315U SCSI driver not available in 2.2.4?
Greetings! I'm SuSE 6.3 as a base installation with the updated software needed for the standard 2.2.4 kernel. I noticed that the driver for the Tekram DC-315U SCSI card is no longer in the kernel as it was for the 2.2.x series. The DC-390 driver does not work for the DC-315U. I checked the Tekram website for info on the DC-315U chipset (TRM-S1040) but I can't find the corresponding driver in the 2.2.4 kernel. What driver should I be using? Is the driver from the Tekram website compatible with the 2.2.4 kernel? Thanks! Christopher Reimer
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Did you enable the first option for beta drivers? Also, if this is a Kernel from standard sources it will not have it. Finally, yes you can get it from Tekream, and also from SuSE. Try Tekram first as I cannot remember where on SuSE you can get it, but the Tekram site will link it in. The standard 2.4.2 kernel doesn't have the option. Funny that it doesn't.

The 2.4.x kernel series is different than the 2.2.x kernel series. I was able to hacked the appropriate files to get the option to show up correctly in "make menuconfig". When I try to compile the kernel, the compiler spits out all kinds of undeclared, uninitialized and never defined error messages. Does this mean I have to wait until Tekram produces a 2.4.x version of the driver? Thanks! Christopher Reimer
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I am using it in the 2.4 Kernel. Take a look through the readme files as it mentions where to get the latest version. The stock 2.4 kernel does not have it as it is still considered too beta to join the main Kernel, however SuSE included it. I built it in as mk_initrd screwed up :-(. Works fairly fail, although I get the occaisonal and tkaes at most two tires before it works. Matt On Sunday 18 March 2001 00:34, Christopher D. Reimer wrote:

Does this mean you have to recompile the kernel? I've got one of those Tekram cards at work, in a Compaq, and if I can ever get it to accept a second hard drive, I will try and install 7.1 on it on the second drive. I have a Jaz on the scsi card that I'd like to access. TIA, --doug At 22:51 03/17/2001 -0800, you wrote:
