[opensuse] 12.1 create a screencast
Hi I want to make a screencast. I've looked at this: http://linuxpoison.blogspot.com/2009/05/create-screencasts-on-opensuse-with.... and was wondering about alternatives. What do you use? Or are they all more or less the same. Thanks. L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

RecordMyDesktop works quite well. It has both a GTK and a QT frontend, so you can use it in pretty much any desktop manager. It's the one I usually recommend to people wanting to record screencasts in Linux. RecordMyDesktop is not working on Gnome 3, when you run it hides the panels and when you try to close it it hangs. Swapnil Bhartiya
Editor: Muktware.com
Skype: No Way...its non-free. Hi. I have it running on kde. It records OK but the playback is not in real time. It wizzes through at high speed. e.g. a one minute cast lasts about 5 seconds! I took the one click from opensuse.org, the latest factory contrib version 0.3.8-4.1-i586 Still trying. . . Sounds like you have a setting in there to not record frames where no action takes place. This makes for smaller recordings, but mostly useless. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Hi lynn, we created a howto for screencasts in the wiki: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Screencast_howto That's how we did the obs screencasts. I can give this: http://dodin.org/wiki/index.php?n=Doc.VideoScreenCapture jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

In GNOME3 do Ctrl-Alt-Shift-R to begin recording, and then Ctrl-Alt-Shift-R again to stop recoding. It is built it. Works great. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
