I have GOOGLED & found no bttv drivers. All links lead to dead ends, unfortunately. I have waited on this project long enough. I need to get my Hauppauge PVR-250 working. :-) Any pointers appreciated! -- ..."Yogi" CH Namasté Yoga Studio "If music be the food of love, why can't rabbits sing?"

The problem is that the card isn't recognized at all, so I have to manually configure it. I think I read on this list that the PVR-250 uses the Philips tuner but which one!? I'm on 9 Pro, BTW. -- ..."Yogi" CH Namasté Yoga Studio "If music be the food of love, why can't rabbits sing?"

BTTV is included in the standard kernel (maybe SuSE packaged it seperately, such as video4linux). If you are compiling your own kernel, make sure you enable the video4linux section and check the options. The BTTV homepage is located here: http://linux.bytesex.org/v4l2/bttv.html Charles -- We are Pentium of Borg. Division is futile. You will be approximated. (seen in someone's .signature)

Charles That is the link that came up 'NOT FOUND' so I went to the site's main page and sure enough... that link is missing. -- ..."Yogi" CH Namasté Yoga Studio "If music be the food of love, why can't rabbits sing?"

Strange, I have no problems going on to that page and it does exist. Here is a direct link to the files: http://dl.bytesex.org/releases/video4linux/ Charles -- "It's God. No, not Richard Stallman, or Linus Torvalds, but God." (By Matt Welsh)

Charles That'n worked. Thanks.
I am now told via private e-mail that bttv.o doesn't work w/PVR-250 though I am certain I read, here, that it worked. Am I wrong? -- ..."Yogi" CH Namasté Yoga Studio "If music be the food of love, why can't rabbits sing?"

Right, PVR-250/350, while made by hauppauge, is not based on the Hauppauge chipset, it's based on a Conexant chip. bttv is Hauppauge chipsets only

Thanks for the link. Now, if I can just find some documentation... :-)
I gave you the documentation links in the private e-mail. http://linux.waeckerlin.org/pvr.html http://ivtv.writeme.ch/tiki-index.php?page=HowTo Also when you extract the files there is a folder with the documentation. You will need to install development tools because you will have to compile the driver. The default installation for SuSE 9.1 does not install them. Go to Yast and install the corresponding package. PS: this is my first linux installation and therefore obvious steps for linux users are all new to me. Hope we have these adapters working by the end of this weekend :-) -=terry(Denver)=- chusty@attglobal.net aim: terryXela Date: US: 08/28/04 / Euro: 28.08.04, Time: 08:47:30
